Job Description

Salary: $90,000 - 120,000 per year Requirements:

• 9+ years of relevant experience; masters degree with 7+ years; may consider additional experience in place of a degree
• Hands-on experience with Commvault, Dell EMC Avamar, or equivalent enterprise-class data protection systems in an on-premises/data center setting
• Experience with enterprise backup architecture, including replication technologies
• Familiarity with storage platforms
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere and vCenter environments
• Knowledge of Windows Server
• Understanding of networking fundamentals related to backup and storage traffic
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Active secret clearance with the capability to obtain a top secret clearance
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Dell EMC Proven Professional, Commvault Certified Professional, VMware VCP) are preferred
• Experience in supporting Federal or DOS IT environments is preferred
• Familiarity with air-gapped backup solutions and ransomware protection strategies is a plus
• Experience with database backup and recovery (Oracle, SQL Server) is a plus

• Administer and support the enterprise on-premises Commvault data protection platforms
• Monitor and oversee daily backup operations to ensure successful job completion and prompt issue resolution
• Execute data backup, restoration, and disaster recovery operations for both physical and virtual environments
• Maintain and enhance backup infrastructure, which includes backup servers, media agents, and storage systems
• Troubleshoot systemic issues related to backup failures, performance degradation, and storage utilization
• Develop and enforce backup protocols, retention schedules, and disaster recovery procedures according to customer requirements
• Conduct regular validation of backups and recovery tests to guarantee system resilience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, storage, network, cybersecurity) to uphold secure and compliant operations
• Assist audit readiness and compliance initiatives by providing necessary documentation and reporting
• Keep thorough technical documentation, including SOPs, system diagrams, and operational procedures
• Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed
