Job Description

AlediumHR is partnering with a large, complex healthcare organization seeking a seasoned Director of Benefits to take full ownership of their benefits strategy and operations.

This is a high-impact leadership role. You won't just be administering plans, you'll be shaping programs that directly influence how the organization attracts, retains, and supports its workforce.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of all employee benefit programs
  • Ensure full compliance with ERISA, IRS, and healthcare regulations—no gaps
  • Manage relationships with brokers, consultants, actuaries, and vendors
  • Partner with senior HR leadership to align benefits with Total Rewards strategy
  • Improve systems, processes, and reporting to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefits issues
  • Build and track metrics to evaluate program performance and ROI
  • Lead and develop a team of benefits professionals

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience managing benefits operations in healthcare or a large, multi-entity organization
  • Strong background in health & welfare plans, retirement programs (401(k), 403(b), pension), and voluntary benefits
  • Proven experience with plan design, implementation, and compliance
  • Working knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA, and healthcare reform laws
  • Experience with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • CBP, CEBS, or similar certification
  • Advanced degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • Experience with wellness program development
