This is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to begin or grow a career in Business Development, proposal management, or the communications construction industry. As an RFP Desk Proposal Writer, you will develop new skills, collaborate with a team dedicated to supporting Business Development efforts, and play a key role in improving the quality, consistency, and competitiveness of our proposal documents. This role provides hands-on experience, training, and mentorship to support your professional growth.

This position supports MasTec Communications Group’s Business Development efforts through the timely and accurate submission of RFPs (Requests for Proposal), RFIs (Requests for Information), and bids. Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating proposal activities
• Tracking and updating opportunities
• Ensuring compliance with submission requirements
• Meeting all deadlines

Qualifications

• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented, deadline-driven environment
• Basic organizational or project coordination experience preferred but not required
• Experience supporting Sales or Business Development teams is a plus
• Exposure to RFP documents or legal/contract language is a plus
• Familiarity with Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online portals is preferred
• Broadband or Wireless construction knowledge a plus but not required

Requirements

• Excels at staying organized and always following through on deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong aptitude to work cross-functionally (Operations, Sales, AP, Safety, Marketing, etc.)
• Ability to adapt to constantly changing requests
• Strong technical writing skills are a plus
• Ability to see a project/task through to completion
• Superb follow-up skills
• Familiarity with CRMs and data management
• Be able to work independently
• Previous experience with Salesforce is a plus
• Experience automating mailboxes is a plus
• Proficiency in Outlook and related Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
