Job Description
To ensure the routines and tasks of each shift are properly completed in accordance with Pacific Palms Resort standards. The primary responsibility of a Loss Prevention Agent is to protect the assets of the Company, help maintain a safe business environment, and monitor and enforce associate compliance to Company policies and rules of conduct. Position pays: $22.00/hour. Must have open availability
Responsibilities
- Ensures that all Security personnel functions are being properly completed by the Security Department
- Ensures that shift personnel are properly assigned at all times.
- Responsible for disciplining Security personnel in conjunction with the Director of Security.
- Reviews all reports completed by Security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Maintains a good relationship with all departments within the hotel and ensures that efficient service is available at all times.
- Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards.
- Ensures that a thorough and complete investigation and report is mad on incidents, (e.g., losses, thefts, and accidents and acts of violence) incurred by guests and associates.
- Responsible for coordinating guest room surveillance in conjunction with the Director of Security.
- Ensures that all phases of the key control program are maintained and any discrepancies noted are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Director of Security.
- Ensures that all Security equipment (i.e., uniforms, walkie-talkies, cameras, etc.) is kept clean and in good working condition.
- Monitors all traffic in the lobby area and restaurant, restrooms, garage area, and room service area to control non-guest (i.e., drunks, prostitutes, vagrants, etc.)
- Reports all associates using unauthorized Hotel entrance/exits when reporting for work or leaving for the day to the Director of Security.
- Reasonable requests of management as directed.
- Write reports documenting all incidents, apprehensions, and recoveries.
- Drive a “Shrink Elimination” culture within the Resort environment.
- Participate in all Safety Programs throughout the Resort
- Partner with Resort management to drive Loss Prevention Issues.
- Meet all Resort and Loss Prevention Agent Training and Certification Requirements.
- Create associate awareness for shrink issues related to internal and external theft, operational deficiencies and physical security.
- Check physical security of the Resort facility to prevent and deter theft/fraudulent activity.
- Represent the Resort in a professional manner throughout all court related procedures.
- Communicate with the Director of Security on internal and external investigations and physical security within the Resort.
- Maintain an open channel of communication with resort Management and all associates
- Effectively Support the Loss Prevention Team Plan
- Effectively utilize the CCTV system and other technologies available throughout the Resort.
- Test building alarm system for functionality as directed by Security Supervisor.
- Conduct Surveillance when required as directed by the Security Supervisor, Director of Security, or Executive Team Members.
- Report ANY and ALL incidents/accidents to the Manager on Duty
- Ensure that all Resort walking surfaces are safe and clear of potential hazards
- Immediately correct and unsafe conditions observed throughout the Resort and notify the Manager on Duty.
- Complete specific safety training courses as directed by the SM or DOS.
- Always use and enforce the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Lifting Techniques.
- Work safely and report Associates who are acting in an unsafe manner.
- Offer assistance to guests that are acting in an unsafe manner
- Follow and complete all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the SM or DOS.
- Administration of the Lost and Found Program
- Guest Relations concerning all Lost and Found matters
- Responsibility for organization, continuous control, and security of all Lost and Found
- Property
- Office administration concerning all necessary Lost and Found Record Keeping and
- Documents
- Organization and administration of surveillance system quality control and Functionality
- Procedures, including regular audits, and back up off all incident evidence footage
- Supervision of Security Patrol Officers and Quality Control of Security Department Patrol Division with emphasis on specific time based duties and responsibilities of each SO.
- Verification, review, and approval of all Security Officer Daily Activity Reports.
- Enforce internal and resort wide standards and policies concerning uniform, appearance, and personal hygiene within the Security Department.

- Must be able to develop complete property knowledge including product and service knowledge to better facilitate guest interaction and customer service capabilities.

- Checks cashier vault at normal intervals.
- Periodically inspects exterior of building.
Qualifications
- Minimum of at least 3 years security experience and at least 1 year of supervisory experience
- Hotel/Resort experience preferred
- Excellent customer service practices
- Basic report writing and descriptive writing skills. Must understand Microsoft Windows.
- Have good knowledge of computer systems and customer service skills.
- Must have the ability of work any shift including graveyard, weekends and holidays. Ability to respond to PBX, emergency calls and customer service calls in a calm and collected manner.
- Valid driver's license, Guard card, CPR & First aid training certified
