Senior Video Editor — Capture Films | Provo, UT (In-Office Only)

Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 / year

Capture Films is a video production company based in Provo, Utah. We produce creative, high-caliber content for some of the world's most recognizable brands. Our work spans TV commercials, brand films, online ads, short and feature films, documentaries, social content, aerospace and defense, government agencies, and nonprofit work.

We move fast, we care deeply about the craft, and we hold ourselves to a high standard on every project, regardless of budget or industry.

The role

We're looking for a Senior Video Editor who brings real creative vision to the edit bay. This isn't a seat-warmer position. You'll own projects from assembly cut to final delivery, shaping the story, the pacing, and the feel.

You'll work across a wide variety of content types and industries, which means you need to be adaptable without sacrificing quality. You'll collaborate directly with directors, producers, and clients, offering your reccomendations while taking feedback well.

What you'll do

• Edit projects from rough cut through final delivery across multiple formats and platforms
• Make intentional creative decisions around pacing, structure, music, and narrative arc
• Handle color grading to achieve a cinematic, polished look
• Design and mix sound, not just syncing audio, but using it as a storytelling tool
• Create motion graphics and basic visual effects in After Effects
• Manage your own project files, organization, and deadlines without hand-holding
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and clients throughout post-production

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional video editing experience across varied content types
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (DaVinci is okay for color work)
• A genuine understanding of storytelling: structure, pacing, tension, and emotion
• Sound design sensibility — you know that audio makes or breaks a cut
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
• Clear communicator who takes direction well and gives it when asked
• Humble, hungry, and self-motivated, you don't need to be micromanaged
