Job Summary

A prestigious Downtown Los Angeles law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a dynamic defense litigation team. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a polished legal administrative professional with strong litigation support experience, excellent calendaring skills, and hands-on state and federal e-filing knowledge.

The Litigation Legal Secretary will work closely with attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail are highly valued. Key Responsibilities

- Support attorneys and paralegals with defense litigation matters from case initiation through trial preparation.
- Draft, format, proofread, and revise pleadings, correspondence, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
- Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and litigation-related reminders.
- Prepare and submit state and federal court filings, including electronic filings, in compliance with applicable rules.
- Coordinate trial preparation materials, including trial binders, exhibits, indexes, and supporting documentation.
- Handle complex administrative tasks, document management, and workflow coordination in a high-volume legal environment.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $80,000 to $100,000 per year.
- Competitive pay offered at $95,000 to $100,000, depending on experience.
- Direct hire opportunity.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Support defense litigation attorneys with legal document preparation, calendaring, court filings, and case administration.
- Manage state and federal e-filing processes with accuracy and knowledge of applicable court rules.
- Coordinate litigation deadlines, trial preparation materials, and administrative workflow for attorneys and paralegals.

- 3 to 5 years of litigation legal secretary experience.
- Strong defense litigation experience is required.
- Solid knowledge of court rules, deadlines, calendaring procedures, and legal filing requirements.
- Hands-on experience with state and federal e-filing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
- Experience with legal technology and document management systems, including iManage, Best Authority, Adobe Acrobat, and LawTime, is highly preferred.
- Excellent proofreading, formatting, organizational, and document production skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple deadlines with confidence.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, paralegals, court personnel, and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting defense litigation teams in a mid-size or large law firm environment.
- Familiarity with preparing trial binders, exhibits, tables of authorities, and complex litigation documents.
- Advanced proficiency with iManage, Best Authority, Adobe Acrobat, and LawTime.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative legal support team.
