This recruitment is exempt from the Hiring Freeze (Administrative Order 358).ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS!The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of AVTEC, is recruiting for aMicrocomputer/Network Specialist 1 located in Seward! No Cover Letter Required!This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 18.What You Will Be Doing: Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC), a Division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, is recruiting for an innovative, motivated, and proactive Microcomputer/Network Specialist who will be responsible for providing hands-on system administration support, system maintenance, and operations support of AVTEC's Windows and Linux servers and related infrastructure. The incumbent will build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes. Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure to keep up with the IT business needs of AVTEC. Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures over multiple operating systems.
